Our class also collaborated with Lanterman Reginal Center, visiting the homes under their care to educate clients and their caregivers on oral hygiene care, oral-systemic link, and disease prevention. This experience was incredibly fulfilling and valuable because we understood better why interprofessional collaboration is essential in providing the best possible care to patients.
Additionally, our community health class partnered with the Kid's Dental Clinic in Burbank to conduct dental health screenings, fluoride, and oral hygiene education for elementary school children. This experience underscored the importance of initiating dental health education from an early age.
